What to expect

What to Expect | San Diego Family Acupuncture | FlowersWhat do I need to know before my visit(s)?:

It’s important to arrive for treatment hydrated so drink plenty of water.  It’s also good to have a light meal prior to your acupuncture treatment.  Please, no alcohol or stimulants prior to or immediately following treatment.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that can be lifted to the knees & elbows.  If you are coming directly from work, you may wish to bring a change of clothing with you, as you will probably be lying down.

What if I am late or I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

Please try to be on time and call me if you are running late.  If you are more than 10 minutes late to your scheduled appointment time, you may be asked to reschedule and pay the missed appointment fee, though I do my very best to accommodate unforeseen events.  24-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule appointments.  Any cancellations or no-shows with less than 24-hour notice will be assessed a fee.  This helps all appointments to stay on time (no one likes waiting in the doctor’s office, right?).  In return, you are guaranteed my timeliness, respect & full attention during your scheduled appointment slot.

Is there anything else your acupuncturist and herbalist needs to know?

Apart from the usual medical details, it is important that you tell me:

If you are pregnant or become pregnant over the course of your treatment
If you have ever experienced a seizure or have fainted
If you have a pacemaker or any other electrical implant
If you have any breast implants
If you have a bleeding disorder or are taking anticoagulants
