About me
Born in Viet Nam to Chinese parents, I grew up in San Diego but graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a dual B.A. in French Literature and Comparative Literature. When I lived in Melbourne, Australia, I completed a M.A. degree in Communication Studies at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Something was missing for me professionally but at that point I didn’t know what it was.
I have since become a California Board Certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist. I completed my Masters of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) and my Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) degree from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. I am also a member of the California Acupuncture Association. Treating patients using acupuncture and herbal medicine is what I am passionate about.
In addition to using acupuncture and herbal medicine as modes of care, nutrition and lifestyle modifications are also an essential part of my practice. I’ve been immersed in the study of traditional dietary wisdom for many years. As a mother to two active girls, I am enthusiastic and confident in also treating children using acupuncture, non-needle therapies for the needle-phobic, nutritional therapy, and herbal medicine.
When not wielding needles, I most love spending time with my family, friends and dog (see cute picture of Ellie, my canine child below). I also love reading, cooking, and traveling.
